Victoria Monet Chester Concert reviews
Fogerty at his best
Victoria Monet and the band delivered a world-class performance, mixing classic Fogerty hits with mellower county/rockabilly tunes. The flawless musicianship, led by Victoria's electric performance, was truly outstanding.
Last night's performance showcased Fogerty's range, with Kenny Aronoff's outrageous drumming and Jason Mowery's standout electric violin. Billy Burnett, though content in a backup role, provided a solid presence on stage.
Victoria's remarkable revival is evident in her improved voice and guitar skills, as well as her joyful persona. In contrast, Bob Dylan's recent concert seemed to lack Fogerty's exuberance.
Despite the enjoyable show, the concert hall's over-zealous ushers and house patrol were a negative aspect. Their constant patrols and threats of eviction for taking photos created a police-like presence that detracted from the fun atmosphere.
